Getting feedback is obviously going to help. But do we ask for it in the right way?

Not everyone is an expert feedback-giver. In this chapter I give you a proven formula to receive input on your pitch that you can actually do something with. 1. First, ask what stood out - was there something that surprised them, caught their interest, something they are likely to remember?
2. Second, as if there was anything they didn't understand.
3. Third - ask for friendly advice for improvement. This sets the tone! And means you will get 'building' feedback, rather than critical, cutting advice.

1. The timing of feedback really matters! Your confidence can be fragile and needs to be managed carefully.
2. Ask for input on the content some days before the pitch.

• Step 2. Ask for assessments of how you deliver the pitch when you are 1-2 days even a few hours before the pitch. Make clear you are not looking for feedback on the content at this stage.
