The quickest way to improve your delivery of the pitch.

You're gonna love this... All you have to do is film yourself!

(Oh, and you have to watch it too...)

Not many people like seeing and hearing themselves on camera! But this is a proven way to improve your pitch. Find out how to make the best of this in the video.

In this chapter:

  1. Video 1. Film yourself pitching: what to look out for and how to make fast improvements
  2. Action Step: do a run-through and find one big thing to improve.

Three Takeaways from Video 1.

  1. Watch your recording of your pitch as an audience member. Don't worry about feeling 'I hate my voice!' Focus as objectively as possible on what is working, and what could be improved.
  2. First focus on your speech. Are you emphasizing the words that matter? Are you putting energy into right parts of the sentence, so that they understand what they should think and feel about your message?
  3. Next, if you are preparing for an in-person pitch, look at your body language. Are you gesturing to emphasise the words that matter? Are you standing in a normal way? Or maybe moving too much?

And one more thing - work on one improvement at a time! Don't try to fix 3 different things in one run-through.

Action Step! Film yourself, watch it, identify improvements, repeat...

Follow the steps you saw in this chapter's video (see the Three Takeaways above) and you'll be on track to make your pitch even stronger.

Good luck!
